Five days for Five on Friday. Do click on the link to join Amy and everyone else for their week.
What a strange week! I blame my eldest son. He and his partner have been residing in Muriel's room this week, as their bathroom is being gutted and refitted. It's curious how extra people in the house upsets the giros, so to speak.
Monday : Everyone had set off to work when the phone rang. The builder was concerned that the new bath wouldn't fit we needed to get another one asap. Not an easy thing in this island to buy something off the shelf without ordering. Many phone calls later we were off to buy one. Crammed it into the car and headed back to my son's flat. I wish you could have seen the two geriatrics huffing and puffing up two floors with a bath. Builder suitably impressed, we then headed downstairs with the bath that didn't fit. Fortunately the shop gave us a refund. Just as well.
Tuesday: Another glorious sunny day. Frosty again but great for walking. This time we were phoned part way along the beach. An item of furniture was about to be delivered to the flat , could we be there to receive it. Herumph. Fortunately we were near the flat so we're able to divert before continuing on our way.
Wednesday: The spell of artic weather finally broke and grey skies descended. Time to cut out curtains for my neighbour. A couple of weeks ago they asked me if I knew of a curtain maker. Without thinking I said I didn't because I made my own. You know where this story is going I'm sure. It is one of those tricky situations where I can't really ask for money because they cat feed regularly. On the other hand my perfectionist side is working overtime because the curtains aren't for me. On the plus side eldest son took us out for dinner. Win win.
Thursday: More curtain making! Then another bathroom crisis. The tiler we had used before couldn't do the tiling next week. More phone calls to find a tiler. Retired people are never bored. Possibly might have found one but he will call on Friday. Fingers crossed...and toes.
Friday: Today! I had to add Friday to make five days for Amy's Five on Friday. We are hoping to have a quieter day after another mammoth food shop to keep everyone fed. Not sure if the tiler will call, so it could be another tiler search. Definitely more curtain making and hopefully a stroll along the beach. I'll leave you with a selection of sunsets and twitcher photos. I was quite pleased with my murmuration of geese the other day. Also a very cute grey plover.
Hope your week has gone well. I'll be round to see what you have been up to.
